The light of the soul

“I see a spark in my darkness"
A dim glow
“Hush the light can do nothing”
The spark grows to a flame
“I shall end this”
The dark winds blow
“Watch as it fades”
The light remains
“No matter”
The light burns still
“Surely the wick will burn out”
The wick burns without loss
“Then the wax will waste away”
The spark burns and no wax falls
“Why does this light defy me?”
The flame grows
“Why are you?”
The darkness recedes
“How can a spark do this?”
The flame grows
“I shall not lose my darkness; you shall fall to the flood”
Water covers the flame and snuffs it out
“As I thought, you are a simple spark nothing more”
The fire returns in a passionate blaze
“This cannot be”
The light grows still
“I command thee back”
The darkness is pressed back by light
“The winds and water will halt you”
The wind passes over the flame and the water turns to vapor around the fire
“But you are a spark; you can do nothing why do you remain”
The fire intensifies
“I shall snuff you myself!”
The darkness pours down over the fire and all is dark
“As I thought you are no more than a spark in darkness”
Hundreds of sparks appear lighting the air and blackness
“This is not possible, you are but sparks, and I am the darkness”
The mass of darkness contains a glow within
“This spark, this fire, this life has won”
The fire erupts through the darkness illuminating it in light, little darkness remains
“How, can it be that this has happened, you were but a spark that snuffed out the
darkness.”
The darkness is dim and then fades
The light speaks
“It is Finished”

I like this a lot! There is always a battle of darkness and light, but who will win? I like the desperation of the darkness and the silent determination of light! Impressive!
