Freud's Opera House Part 4*Your foot presses flat against the linoleum floor. One of countless tiles that flood the seemingly endless grounds of the hallways. In an attempt to heed the advice of your absence friend Rouse; your eyes almost automatically scan around at the visible walls and doors for anything that carries the color red. This moment of focus leads to little discovery so far. Without any obvious clues or direction to go on you make a choice in your mind. A decision to exit the current corridor and search on foot. A choice derived from only random guess and assumed intuition.*
"tap top tap top tap" * A sharp sound ringing on the tip of your ears. It is the shoes on your feet as the continue stepping across the floor.*
*While walking further ahead, your gaze turns toward the many identical room. After the seventh or eighth room your mind begins to drift off. Thoughts float up from the haze and come in to focus.*
"Am I really the only one here?"
"What sort of place is this?"
"Why are there so many rep
Freud's Opera House Part 3*You keep a regular pace on this glowing path. One that cuts through shadow like a trowel does to the soil before it. The ground itself is rigid and coarse, enough so that it can be felt by the sols of your feet with each bump and curve. After a minute passes, your slightly hurried pace along the path becomes similar to a stroll. A slowed stride allowing you to gaze around and enjoy the oddity of this place if you wish. The silence is slowly shifted as a voice materializes. It is that of Rouse.*
"Might I say that your actions impress me. Such a sight back there in the theater might of scared off others. However, I had hoped you'd stay for a while longer. Now I must confess to you that I am troubled by something. A "Something" that I ask for your assistance with."
"You see, that man you encountered back there, Virgil, needs help. Allow me to be more specific... I have a role to play here in this place as does Virgil and even the ID. We are all linked by a broken connection. What we thin
Freud's Opera House Part 2"Attention please...."
*The weak voice sources from a young woman who has stepped from under the rising curtain.*
"Before we are to show this evenings production; The theater wishes to give credit to Virgil Ego for both his generous donation and supplemented script, on the behalf of The ID, for tonights show."
*A light hearted clapping is heard in the lower tier of the auditorium. Being lead to the source of the noise; you look downstage and see the figure of a man applauding the announcer. His Identity cannot be made out at this distance.*
*The female announcer grins and bows before exiting stage left. The echo of clapping dissolves and a movie screen comes into full view.*
At first nothing can be seen beyond the blank whiteness of the screen's natural tone. Then the white screen lights up with multiple flashing words which stack upon each other.*
[Lock, call, Never, gone, Till it, always after, seven seven seven, for me, purpose, under me...]
*The words and phrases start appearing fa
Freud's Opera House Part 1*Specks of small light flicker before your sight. They rise upward from the blackened ground beneath your feet. Thought they produce a glow the dim light of the room is held to a strict limitation. If you do attempt to peer about your surroundings, it will do little good. All that can be detected is a broken door handle latched to a lanyard which is lying on the floor*
*Touching the item only causes it to break apart into smoke. It is then that a voice of assumed confidence reaches out to you.*
"Pardon me but dear reader; I believe you're lost. It seems your mind has withdrawn from the reality you know so well. I should hope that you won't be missing it during your stay here. Also, allow me to stop you right there before your mind leads you to questions I will preemptively answer."
*A gloved white hand presses out through the darkness and presses against your back. It leads you forward to the source of the voice.*
"Greetings, I feel it's better to see me just this once."
*The figure in
